Today was another busy day for me. As you might imagine Serieswilhelmtechcrunch, there’s a ton going on and it’s exhausting! So as we approach this final week of school, I’ve been taking a few days off work to recover. That being said, I am so excited that this special day is finally here! As you probably know already, last year my class had an event called “The Class Reunion” where the entire student body would meet for one day to have some fun and catch up with friends. It was such an enjoyable experience for all of us because it meant that we could get a little time away from our daily routine and focus on something that we really loved doing. This year, my classmates celebrated their graduation by going into the middle school auditorium for “The Class Reunion 2” which was amazing because it gave them some space to think about what they wanted out of life and see what goals they wanted to aim towards next year. The big moment came when we all went into the auditorium together in the same order on a sunday morning for “The Class Reunion 3.” It was such an awesome experience because you get to not only be able to meet your classmates but also get some personal attention from your teachers as they are listening intently to what each one of you has to say. What made this year’s event so awesome?
- The Once Upon a Time in the West! We got to see the classic “The Wizard of Oz” as well as “The Wizard of Oz II” and “The Adventures of Kite & the Great Wall” which were also part of the events.
- Getting to meet and be around your classmates from years past.
- Getting to meet and be around your future classmates.
- Being able to get a little personal with your teachers.
- Being able to spend a little time with your friends, family and classmates after the event.
- Seeing a lot of old friends.
- Being able to enjoy a little beer and wine on the last day of school.
The celebration of “The Class Reunion”
The first thing that I would like to highlight is that this event was all about the students. They loved it and it made everyone feel so welcomed. While it would have been great if we also got to spend some time with our parents and siblings, we didn’t have that opportunity this year. So instead, we all kinds of shared in the joy of the students. We all got together for a wonderful three-day party and got to do some pretty amazing stuff. Some of the highlights include: – Getting to see and meet our friends from years past – Celebrate our graduation – Get ready for the upcoming school year – Get ready for school (and life) More than anything, though, I loved the moment when all of the students got together in the same room for the very first time and shared in the moment. ## The process for creating the show
After seeing “The Class Reunion” and “The Class Reunion 2,” it’s no secret that I was interested in creating my own version of “The Wizard of Oz” and “The Wizard of Oz II” for my “The Show of the Century” performance. So when I got the opportunity to create the first “The Wizard of Oz” for “The Class Reunion” I was blown away. To this day, I still don’t know how I pulled this off. To this day, I’m still trying to come to terms with my failure this year. Besides the success of the original “The Wizard of Oz,” there are a few things that got me inspired this year. One is this quote from Margaret Mitchell: “There are times when you just have to say, ‘I’m so happy I was right!’”
The evening before
This year’s event was on a sunday so there was no need to make a big show of it. Instead, we had the option to stay at a hotel or eat at a restaurant. Since we were all going to the same place, this worked out perfectly. We also got to enjoy some much-needed downtime before heading back to school. ## Reunion after party
Here’s what we did after the event. We went to a restaurant called The Great American Bar and Grill. It was my first time ever going to a restaurant and I recommend it to anybody who is looking for a really fun evening. We also got to take some shots of the beautiful city of New York and some of its amazing architecture. Here are some photos from the experience:
## Final Words
As you might know by now, this year’s “The Show of the Century” was nothing less than a “The Great American Bar & Grill was the hit of the season” event. As it turned out, it was just as well because it was pretty much the highlights from the entire year for my business. We sold out of our normal capacity of 350 attendees quickly and as a result, we had to find a new location for the event.
As the calendar turned toward spring, “The Show of the Century” was one of the best events of the year for me. It was crazy energetic, fun and exciting and the classmates who came with me were so amazing. This year, though, I’m going to miss “The Show of the Century” because it’s just a part of life. With the release of “The Dark Knight Rises” and the “American Sniper” being released as well as the end of the school year, it’s going to be really hard for me to get through the rest of the year without at least taking a quick break to check in with the classmates I miss the most.
